Sam Neill once rehearsed the iconic role of James Bond. The actor has now revealed

that he never wanted to take on the role and is grateful that it was not captured.

The New Zealand actress, who returned to the iconic Jurassic Park franchise with the latest episode of

Jurassic World Dominion, recalls her audition for the role of the world's most famous spy.

Neill, 74, shared his new film, My Agent, Stopped Me in a Shameless Trial with CinemaBlend.

"It was one of the saddest times of my life because I never wanted to play James Bond," he told the newspaper.

"I did it with extreme skepticism," Neil admitted. "I think that was the last time I allowed my agent to bully me in the past."

He reminds me that he used to tell his agent that he didn't want to be James Bond: "Especially since I didn't

want to be James Bond, everyone said, 'Look, there's James Bond in the corner of the restaurant.' one ... I don't like that. '
